Wax Carving Workshops

Wax Carving Workshops

The origins of lost wax casting are deeply rooted in the history of jewellery, with evidence to suggest this technique was being used to create decorative pieces as far back as 3700 BC.

Wax carving is a vital skill for jewellers. Enabling us to create details that would be much more challenging if working into the metal directly, as wax can be added and removed accordingly to hand sculpt a design a layer at a time. A mould of the wax model is made and then the molten metal is poured into the mould, casting it in it's metallic form.

I offer one day wax carving workshops that will teach you the basics about this technique in a relaxed atmosphere. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created a unique and wearable piece of jewellery, crafted with your own hands and ready to become a special part of your collection.
